For decades, print and sign stores had used huge vinyl cutters to make their signs and banners. In 2003, Provocraft used that technology in a small, thick unit called the Cricut Personal Cutter (CRV00). The Cricut machine can cut various materials such as fabric, vinyl, wood, cardboard, heat transfer, etc. Cricut Craft Room and Cricut's image library became Cricut Design Space, which has recently also made a big change in the sense that it is no longer browser-based.

As I understand it, Gypsy also interacted well with Craft Room (below), an online program similar to DesignStudio that, for a while, supported both old and new Cricuts. If they want me to consider, say, a Maker, they'll have to let third-party developers handle the thing without relying on Cricut software, as Sure-Cuts-A-Lot did in the early days. I contacted Cricut and they told me that Craft Room was discontinued. I was having problems and I couldn't download it.

The Cricut Explore One is the first machine to adopt the style of modern Cricut cutting machines, with a look very similar to the machines up to the manufacturer. The Personal Cutter was soon followed by the Cricut Create (CRV00), which was the same size, but could cut up to 11.5 on a 6 x 12 rug and was more accurate. All Cricut machines use Cricut Design Space as the program through which you will carry out all your Cricut projects. Cricut DesignStudio (now discontinued and unsupported) - But those machines were even more useful when combined with a personal computer and Cricut Design Studio software.

Cricut machines work like a printer, but instead of depositing ink, the machine cuts materials with precision. The Cricut Create was the next machine released by Cricut (also known as Provo Craft in its day). The knife blade works like an X-acto knife for your Cricut, making many passes to cut thicker materials. The Cricut Joy is a small compact cutting machine, less than half the size of the Cricut Explore and the Cricut Maker.

Unfortunately, the machine was not the most popular for users at the time, and it was interrupted quite quickly, while Cricut sought to create machines more aligned with the original ones. Not only is Cricut Joy 75 percent lighter than the company's most popular cutting machines, it also introduces two new features not currently available in Cricut's product portfolio. As I understand it, Craft Room would work with cartridge-based machines, as well as newer machines such as Cricut Mini and Explore, which did not use cartridges.
