The latest and greatest from the Explore family, the Cricut Explore 3 can do everything Cricut Explore Air 2 can do, and so much more. Cricut Explore 3 works with our new smart materials. The manufacturer Cricut supports an ever-expanding set of blades and tools, including the knife blade, engraving tip, laminating tip, engraving tool and rotary cutter. The paid subscription is called Cricut Access, it's a monthly or annual subscription with tons of benefits and files that you have access to.
You'll need a computer or smartphone to access Cricut's design software and send your design to the Cricut cutting machine. If you're buying a new machine and you can afford it, I recommend the Cricut Maker 3 because it has more capabilities and is quieter. The Cricut Explore Air 2 instead of the Adaptive Tool System has an intelligent adjustment dial that allows you to change the settings of different materials manually. Cricut Joy does NOT have the ability to print and then cut, so if you want to use that feature, opt for one of the other larger machines.
Cricut Maker machines have a special adaptive tooling system, which means they have designed the machine for future upgrades. I contacted Cricut and they told me that Craft Room was discontinued. I was having problems and I couldn't download it. The Autopress may seem difficult to use, but like all Cricut machines, it has been designed with everyone in mind, for example, the device automatically detects the width of the material and adjusts, and the lid can be easily closed with two fingers.
The Cricut Maker 3 can cut even more wood materials, such as basswood, balsa wood, natural wood veneer and heavy chipboard. To write with your Cricut Machine, you'll need to make sure that the image or text is set to WRITE instead of CUT. Cricut Design Space is the software that allows you to organize, create and finally cut your projects. If you're buying a used Cricut, you might come across older Cricut models such as the Cricut Explore, the Cricut Explore One or the Cricut Explore Air.
And they've added a larger tool container and device shelf inside the lid (like the Maker) so you can place your phone or tablet in the machine if you use the Cricut Design Space mobile app.
